Department of Foreign Affairs announced that the old Philippine passports — green and maroon colored ones — are set to be phased out by 2015 and be replaced by e-Passports. They will be recognized by October 31, 2015.
Good thing, when I applied year 2012, it is already an e-Passport that has this ICAO logo.
